The final nail in the Deadhead coffin

I can very much relate to this story. Since it's publishing Phil Lesh has made a statement that said he was not involved in the decision, and John Barlow has said he is against it.

Since I take Phil at his word, how could he NOT be a part of the decision. This material was obviously taken down by someone with a power of attorney but that someone could also be releaved of his/her duties. What has happened here is nothing less than the goose and golden egg analogy. By giving us only audience shows which are mostly avoided because of the richness of the boards, they have pulled the plug on the whole uniqueness of this Experience and have caused people like me who really see ourselves like scholars of a great and wonderful band to feel abandoned by the very ones we are devoted to.
This is all so new to me, having just discovered the situation as of 12/3/05, that I'll have to write later but I am very sad that the self-centered have taken control of the Dead. Yes, we all have mortgages to make but your orginization could well develop alongside with the boards on LAMA.
